Home Gardens Penthouse with private roof garden

Description

A terrace in continuity with the living area on the first floor of the client's house, who asked us to make this outdoor space more functional. The terrace was transformed into a hanging garden which is green all year round and easy to maintain, and is also safe as a children's play area.

For the vegetation, which is concentrated around the outer perimeter of the terrace, we installed metal tubs hanging from the parapet so as not to overload the attic. The tubs contain the (removable) plant pots, the irrigation and drainage system, the lighting and mosquito repellent systems. The flooring of the roof garden is partly in stoneware and partly in synthetic turf, reserved for the children's area.

To transform the terrace into a roof garden, we designed:
- Floating porcelain stoneware floor.
- Synthetic turf with a natural effect and the necessary layers of underlay.
- Green works: evergreen shrubs suitable for long life in pots and herbaceous plants for flowering.
- Irrigation and drainage systems.
- Lighting system.

The design of the roof garden included the following phases:
- Topographical survey of the space.
- Drawing of plans for the preliminary, definitive and executive project.
- 3D modelling and rendering to assess the project in advance.
- Assistance during construction.
- Landscape quality equipment.
